Eye of the Storm by Kate Messner

It is totally ironic that I am writing this post as I have been closely following a tornado storm cell that is threatening the area where I live.  I can just imagine how Kate Messner must have been in the same situation to inspire her to write this thrilling new novel.  Set in a futuristic world in 2050, where tornadic storms are an every day occurrence and threatens everyone.  Everyone that is except the chosen few who happen to live in Placid Meadows, the Storm-safe town that Jaden's father helped create.  Jaden, who has been separated from her father, has earned the right to live at Placid Meadows and attend Eye on Tomorrow, a camp where gifted students are groomed to become future storm scientists.  But the more Jaden learns about the tornadoes and storms that are somehow bouncing off Placid's storm-safe fence, the more she wonders just what exactly is her father doing to manipulate the weather and how much does she really know about him?

Sorry it has been awhile since I've posted - hand surgery prevented typing. Hopefully full recovery is on its way!
